Sean Bishop - Director

After musical studies I worked with all Londons finest orchestras including English Chamber Orchestra, The Philharmonia, B.B.C. Symphony Orchestra and The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

During my musical life I have been fascinated with string instruments.

In Australia I lived close to two violin makers and it was this daily contact that influenced me to study all aspects of violins and bows as well as some violin making of my own. I have a particular interest in early 20th Century violin makers (Bisiach, Degani, Pedrazzini etc) as well as 20th Century French and English bowmakers (W. E. Hill & Sons, Sartory, Vigneron, Ouchard etc).

Tone and quality are both important in musical instruments

As a former professional player my instruments are selected not only for their quality of make but also for their tone as I am able to play all my instruments to make sure they are up to the exact standard required by today’s students, amateurs and professionals.
