Violin by Richard Duke

A very fine violin by Richard Duke, London c1790.  Two piece back, stamped "Duke" on the back.  Certificate by J&A Beare.  Beautiful dark golden varnish.  Strong tone.

"Duke instruments have normally been regarded in the past as 'ladies violins' this violin is not one of those!  Very strong and robust with a big tone".
