Noel Burke

Noel Burke began his bowmaking tuition in 1989 under Charles Espey in Seattle, Washington. Afer a one year apprenticeship he moved to Paris where he studied under Stephane Thomachot for two years. He live and works in Ireland and today he is regared as perhaps the finest living bowmaker.

Prizes include:

  • 1994 - Violin Society of America (VSA) Gold medals for violin, viola and cello bows
  • 1996 - Violin Society of America (VSA) Gold medals for violin, viola and cello bows
  • 1998 - RNCM Strad cello and bow making competition. 1st Prize
  • 1999 - Grand Prix de la Ville de Paris
